I also have a strong background in public health as a result of my Masters program in Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences (BSHES). This is a long name, but what it means is this: I’ve studied the science of promoting healthy behaviors. I’m particularly interested in using storytelling as a way to encourage people to fight infectious diseases and protect the environment. My program included training in interview skills, program planning, behavior change theory, qualitative research methods, curriculum development, and program evaluation. These subjects inform my decisions as I craft different types of health communications.

I’m also committed to creating a world that is more equitable and inclusive. My work is founded in principles of ethics and social justice. I acknowledge the fact that our world has been shaped by racism, sexism, able-ism, economic injustice, and other systems of oppression. I try to expose and counteract these forces in my work, while recognizing that I myself still have a lot to learn.
